MARSHALLTOWN – The Marshalltown Education Partnership (MEP) is pleased to announce the 2020 MEP Scholars. This year, nineteen students have earned the scholarship. MEP is a program for first-generation college students beginning in 9th grade.
The goal of the Marshalltown Education Partnership (MEP) is to make post-secondary education a possibility for all graduates of Marshalltown High School. Students enroll in the program beginning in 9th grade, where they receive guidance on succeeding in high school, the college and financial aid process, and career exploration.
To earn the MEP Scholarship, students must meet certain attendance and GPA requirements throughout their high school careers. The scholarship covers fifty percent of the tuition at Marshalltown Community College (MCC) for a maximum of 64 credits hours over 36 months. Students can use the tuition assistance toward a certificate, diploma, or associate’s degree at MCC.

Marshalltown Community College, located in Marshalltown, is a member of the Iowa Valley Community College District. The District is comprised of Marshalltown Community College, Ellsworth Community College, Iowa Valley Grinnell, and Iowa Valley Continuing Education.
