The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), has considered education its number one priority since it was established in 1929. Therefore, as part of LULAC’s education efforts, LULAC Council 377 will be awarding six scholarships to students in southeast Iowa. The scholarships are to aid students with the cost of higher education which is constantly on the rise, making financing a college degree extremely difficult for many families. This is particularly true of the Latino community. In fact, according to the Pew Hispanic Center, 77% of Latinos say that the cost of education is a key reason why they do not go to college or fail to finish once they have started. Given these facts, League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) Council 377 will provide high-need students with scholarship dollars.

LULAC Council 377 is proud to present these scholarships opportunities available to ALL students living in southeast Iowa (Appanoose, Davis, Jasper, Jefferson, Henry, Keokuk, Mahaska, Monroe, Van Buren, and Wapello). Students are encouraged to apply at starting February 1, 2020. The submission deadline is April 30, 2020.
