LULAC Iowa scholarships are now available in six different communities throughout Iowa

Each year the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) awards thousands of dollars in scholarships to qualified students in an effort to help them achieve their career and college goals. Since its establishment in 1929, LULAC has considered education its number one priority. 

Last year LULAC Iowa councils across the state awarded approx. $60,000 to about 70 students statewide. Six Councils participated in the LULAC National Scholarship Fund (LNSF) program last year.

This year the LULAC councils in the cities of Davenport, Muscatine, West Liberty, Ottumwa, Des Moines and Fort Madison will award scholarships in their respective communities.

Each council awards different amounts of scholarships depending on the amount of money they raised throughout the year in their own fundraisers. Also each council has their own scholarship committee that reviews all applications and sends them to the LNSF office for approval. The LNSF program matches the scholarship up to 60% more of the funds provided by each council.

LULAC Davenport Council 10:

LULAC Council 10 will award scholarships to qualified students within 50 miles of the Quad Cities who are enrolled or are planning to enroll in accredited colleges or universities in the United States. Applications and guidelines are available at www.LULAC10.org. Applications must be postmarked by March 31, 2020. Awards range from $250 – $2,000.  

LULAC Muscatine Council 371:

The LULAC Muscatine Scholarship Program organizes grassroots fundraising that is matched by community partners to help Latino youth achieve college enrollment.

Because of the community support we are able to award twice as many scholarships as we did last year.

LULAC Ottumwa Council 377: 

LULAC Council 377 is proud to present these scholarships opportunities available to ALL students living in southeast Iowa (Appanoose, Davis, Jasper, Jefferson, Henry, Keokuk, Mahaska, Monroe, Van Buren, and Wapello).
