Summer in Quad Cities is always full of fun events and festivals. While many imagine The District of Rock Island or Downtown Davenport when they think of summer fun, there are also a lot of things going on in downtown East Moline. Below are some of the events that will take place in East Moline this summer. Pick the best or attend them all, whatever you choose, you sure will be glad you took time to join the fun in downtown East Moline.

 

May 29 at 1:00 PM at American Legion (829 16th Avenue) will be a time to honor and remember. Join everyone for Memorial Ceremony and Program.

June 10 from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM get your family together and come to Picker’s Paradise. Shop for rare one of a kind items and enjoy fun activities and demonstrations.

Come on 3rd of July for Fireworks (more information is available on www.eastmoline.com)

4th of July is the famous 4th of July Firecracker Run and a customary EMFD pancake breakfast that will be at American Legion from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM. For more information about the race please go to www.firecrackerrun.com

And of course, what kind of 4th of July would it be without a parade? The 59th annual 4th of July parade will start at 1:00 PM along the 15th Avenue in downtown East Moline.

 

August 19th is another big event the Freedom Fest. It will have the 10th Annual Main Drag Car Show and this year the motorcycles are receiving a special invitation to join. Expect demonstrations, vendor, craft sales, food and drinks and activities for children. But wait, there are also new fun things to do this year. Among crazy fun activities there will be human foosball competition and obstacle course challenge. The night will culminate with music by Funktastic5. September sure will start bringing cooler weather, but the fun will keep on going in downtown East Moline.

 

September 4 will be marked by Labor Day Parade along the 15th Avenue. Those who wish to participate can call to register or for more information at (563) 344-0338.

 

EM Fiesta

 

September 17 will dress East Moline in red, white and green. This is the day when the Hispanic community celebrates Mexican Independence Day in East Moline. With the Mexican Independence Day Parade and Fiesta. The Parade will start at 12:00 noon and the Fiesta is from 2:00- 9:00 pm in downtown East Moline.  The Fiesta & Parade Committee is in need of volunteers for the event.  If interested in volunteering please call Abel at 309.737.5915.
