Once again Toys for Tots delivered on a yearly tradition of giving toys to thousands of area kids during the holiday season. Parents had been signing their children as old a twelve years of age in the past couple months and on Saturday, Dec. 16, they gathered at 2130 E. Kimberly Road, Suite 200, in the Spring Street Village Shopping Center in Davenport, Iowa to pick up those gifts. Volunteers from the community and the Marine Corps were on hand to distribute the toys that have been collected throughout area businesses and organizations. For years Sylvia Mendez has volunteered helping Spanish speaking families with the sign up and pick up process.
