MAX previously known as HBO announced that they are currently working on a new biographic series that highlights the life of Roberto Gómez Bolaños, most commonly known as “Chespirito” or “El Chavo del 8.”

The biographic series aims to tell the story of Chespirito, and it was confirmed by MAX which will be collaborating with Warner Bros and THR3 Media Group to bring the story to life. The show has been approved by Chespirito’s son Roberto Gómez Fernández who will also be a participant ensuring that his father’s life is correctly shown throughout the show. Roberto is a Mexican producer, artist, actor, and comedian.

  • Roberto Gómez Bolaños (Chespirito): Pablo Cruz a 40-year-old known author for his role in featured telenovelas such as ‘Por Siempre Mi Amor,’ ‘Luis Miguel: The Series,’ ‘Cuando Me Enamoro,’ ‘Paquita la del Barrio: The Series,’ and much more!
  • Maria Antonieta de las Nieves: Jesusa Ochoa
  • Florinda Meza: Paulina Dávila
  • Angelines Fernández: Andrea Noli
  • Ramón Valez: Miguel Islas, born on 18 January 1973 in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico. He is an actor and producer.
  • Carlos Villagrán: Juan Lecanda

When the project was announced, Roberto said: “Tener la oportunidad de contar la historia de tu padre puede ser un regocijo enorme. Sobre todo cuando tu papá es Roberto Gómez Bolaños (…). Mi padre fue un pequeño hombre con un gran corazón. Y así, tendremos la tarea de mostrarle al mundo un ser talentoso y al mismo tiempo al padre, al esposo, al amigo, al hermano.” The launch date has not yet been announced, but many people are excited to watch this biographic series. Chespirito is well known in Latin America, and he has had a big impact on many generations. Many people have mentioned how excited they are to see this show come to life, and they are more excited knowing that his son is contributing. Many people have also commented on the resemblance of Juan Lecanda and Carlos Villagrán!
