Storm Lake, IA-Exciting prizes and fun for all highlights the Carey’s Furniture 17th annual Great Easter Egg Hunt beginning on Monday, April 7 and running until April 18 or until the golden egg is found.
A single golden egg will be hidden within the Storm Lake city limits (excluding private property). Participants will rely on a series of clues, available on the Carey’s Furniture website and published in the Storm Lake Times Pilot on Fridays throughout the duration of the contest.
Should the golden egg remain unfound by the contest’s conclusion on April 18, additional bonus clues will be made available exclusively on Carey’s Furniture website.
To claim the prize, the finder must return the golden egg to either Carey’s Furniture or the Storm Lake Times Pilot. No purchase is necessary to participate. The winner will be able to claim $1,000 in furniture from Carey’s Furniture in downtown Cherokee along with a one-year subscription to the Storm Lake Times Pilot.
To jog your memory, last year’s winners were Storm Lakers Laura and Emmett Stansberry, who found the egg at the base of the Gateway Lighthouse. The egg lay hidden for two weeks before the Great Find, unlike the previous year when Saige Wagner and her sister Jazli found the 2023 egg the very day it was hidden — behind a sign on the board walk at the Discovery Center.
While this is the 17th annual contest for the Cherokee Chronicle Times, it is the third year for the Storm Lake Times Pilot.
The Great Easter Egg Hunt is open to all except employees of the Times Pilot, Cherokee Chronicle Times and Carey’s Furniture, and their immediate families. No purchase is necessary. Decision of the judges is final.
