Storm Lake, IA-A grand opening was held Friday afternoon for The Corndog Company Storm Lake in the Bomgaars parking lot.
Storm Lakers Roberto and Yolanda Lozano debuted the food truck, which is part of The Corn Dog Company franchise. The flashy black and gold trailers are based in 23 states, with 13 in Utah and five in Idaho. Two are in Iowa –– in Sioux City and Storm Lake.
The menu is getting thumbs up so far. You can get two sizes of corn dogs –– the footlong and regular –– plus deep fried Cheese Bombs, deep fried Snickers, Milky Ways and Oreos, and deep fried Babybel cheese pops. Drinks and kettle chips are also available.
The chain’s unique touch is a drizzle of honey on all of the hand dipped goodies. Hence the striped bees clustered around the logo and the honeycomb imagery on the truck.
