Mildred Tejada, the writer of this short film did not create this shortfilm as a biographical work. Instead, she created something that combined reality and fiction in hopes to educate the audience regarding the facts of the feminicide. The journalist and documentary filmmakers assured that the Riccy Had Dreams documentary would not include cruel scenes. This was particularly challenging for the producers because they needed to also include the sensitivity the topic required.
The film directed by Mildred Tejada was presented within the framework of International Women’s Day to represent the struggle, strength and vindication of women’s rights through art. But it will be taken to different national and international festivals to give it visibility. However, it is expected that it will soon reach the different movie theaters in Honduras for free. It is expected to be out in January 25th, 2024.
