Washington, DC – TheDream.US, the nation’s largest college access and success program for immigrant youth, today offered a reminder that there is only one week remaining before the deadline to apply for TheDream.US Opportunity Scholarship. Applications are open to immigrant students with or without DACA or TPS who came to the U.S. before the age of 16 and before Nov. 1, 2016. We welcome all undocumented students who meet our eligibility criteria to apply and have a goal for this year’s scholarship round to increase the number of scholarships awarded by 50 percent compared to past years.
The Opportunity Scholarship provides up to $80,000 to cover tuition, fees, and on-campus housing and meals for a bachelor’s degree for students who live in 20 targeted, locked-out states where they cannot access in-state tuition: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Deadline for applications for the Opportunity Scholarship is January 31, 2022.
As one TheDream.US graduate recently told us, “I never thought I’d have a college degree or the means to even try to get one. TheDream.US opened many doors for me. It gave me the key (education) I needed to become the best version of myself and has helped shape who I am today. This program made me feel seen for the first time in my life.”
