Miss Universe 2023 will be taking place in El Salvador! This has been a great accomplishment for El Salvador and has been well-received by many Salvadorans. The journey has been documented in the @missuniversosv on Instagram showing us all the activities they have done, but most importantly showing the beauty of El Salvador. Through this account, we have been able to experience El Salvador with the Miss Universe candidates.
Contestants of the 2023 Miss Universe have been able to fully submerge in the Salvadoran culture as they have not only visited the beauty El Salvador has to offer, but also had the opportunity to meet Salvadorans who have demonstrated their support, love, and excitement of having them in their country.
This Miss Universe has been acclaimed to mark a historic milestone. This Miss Universe contest is full of firsts. It is the first time that El Salvador has hosted the Miss Universe, the first time that married women and mothers are welcome to enter the contest and the first time that Pakistan will be participating in this worldwide beauty pageant.Â
Maria Camila Avella Montanez of Colombia and Michelle Cohn of Guatemala are the first mothers and married women in the competition. Rikkie Valerie Kolle from the Netherlands and Marina Machete from Portugal will be the second and third transgender women to participate in Miss Universe. Erica Robin will be representing Pakistan in Miss Universe 2023.
