Marshalltown PD need your help to identify shooter that left one person dead early this morning

On Monday, February 15, 2021, at approximately 3:07am, police officers responded to the Casey’s, located at 111 North 3rd Avenue, to investigate a shooting. Upon arrival, police officers located an adult male who was suffering from a gunshot wound. That person has died.

Law enforcement continues to investigate the circumstances that led to this shooting. Law enforcement is seeking an adult, male seen leaving the area wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants. The suspect is possibly a Latino male with an accent and is described as being short in stature. No other information about the suspect is known at this time. Information about the victim is being withheld pending family notifications.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting with this investigation. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Marshalltown Fire Department and Unity Point Ambulance Service all responded to the initial 911 calls for this incident.
