Keegan Casteel from Ankeny Iowa faces 2 felony charges then proposes to his girlfriend after release

CHICAGO, On the 4th of July weekend Keegan Casteel 32 years from Ankeny, Iowa is facing two felony charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. 

Casteel went to a Hotel in Chicago located on the 600 block of North Lake Shore Drive at the W Hotel For the 4th of July weekend. It wasn’t until one of the hotel employees spotted a gun in a room in a looking “Very suspicious position”. The employee who reported it, informed the police on what they witnessed. 

Later Tuesday it was reported that Casteel has a laser sight on it along with a semi automatic with 4 magazines next to it.

There was a gun including ammunition found in the hotel room as it was overlooking Chicago’s front. Casteel’s intentions are unclear, but appeared in court July 6th 2021.The  judge on Tuesday ordered him held on a $10,000 bond.

In court it was mentioned that in Iowa he is legally able to own a gun in Iowa. 

“Clearly we aren’t in Iowa” said judge David Navarro

Later after the bond had been posted when Keegan was released he proposed to his girlfriend and accepted Casteel’s proposal.
