The fans of Vicente Fernandez will be delighted to know that Netflix got the rights to transmit a series called The Idol of the People based on the life of Vincente Fernandez and starring Jaime Camil.
The Idol of the People is a production of Colombian television network Caracol TV. Netflix took the rights to be able to transmit this series on its platform to worldwide audiences.
Jaime Camil has expressed many emotions and sentiments on social media following the passing of Vincente Fernandez or “Chente”, as he was affectionately called by his fans. Camil also expressed how honored he was to be chosen to play this modern legend of Mexican ranchera music.
“Portraying Vicente Fernandez, without a doubt, is one of the biggest and most important challenges of my career. In my opinion, Chente is Mexico’s biggest idol and the most monumental exponent of Mexican music all over the world,” Jaime Camil wrote in Spanish in his Instagram account in September.
After the passing of Vincente Fernandez, Jaime Camil shared that he learned a lot about the singer while filming the series.
“God willing, we hope that the millions of fans of El Charro de Huentitán, El Rey de la Música Ranchera, El Ídolo de México, Vicente Fernández, will be happy with the series.” Camil added.
