On Thursday, November 30th, 2023 the Inter Miami CF Communications Department announced that the Club’s preseason match will be taking place on Friday, January 19th at 8:00 PM (ET) 2024 at Estadio Cuscatlán where they will be playing with El Salvador’s national team.
“We’re excited to start announcing our preseason plans and preparations ahead of a thrilling 2024 campaign. We look forward to facing the El Salvador national team in what will be a good first test for our squad against the best players from the country,” said Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director Chris Henderson.

According to Inter Miami CF Communications Department, “Los Cuscatlecos are helmed by Rubén de la Barrera, a Spanish manager with extensive coaching experience at the club level. El Salvador, which often features players from MLS and other leagues in the region, most recently earned a pair of draws in friendlies against Curaçao in November. The team also competed in the 2023 editions of the CONCACAF Gold Cup and Nations League earlier this year.”
This is an opportunity for Salvadorans and Central Americans to potentially see Messi playing for Inter Miami. Many Salvadorans have also expressed their excitement to experience this game.
