Omaha, NE – The Consulate of Mexico in Omaha, Nebraska is pleased to announce the Call for the formation of the Marching Band and Escort of the Consulate of Mexico in Omaha. Both groups will represent our pride of being Mexican and the love we have for our flag and our country.
In this way, all Mexicans, regardless of their age, who have previous experience in the formation of a Marching Band and Escort are invited to make their debut in the celebration of “El Grito 2024”, in the month of September. The selected group will demonstrate their artistic skills and will have the honor of carrying our national flag to Mexico in the civic event of Mexico’s Independence Day on September 14th at the Plaza de la Raza. The call for entries will be open from the date of publication until July 1, 2024.
The bases for participation are the following:
- To be Mexican.
- Previous experience.
- To be considered as a participant in the marching band and escort, participants must send an email to [email protected], through Messenger on our official Facebook page or by calling 402-595-1841 option 5 of our Communities Department.
- Marching Band participants must have their own musical instrument (drum or bugle).
- Participants must be available in the evenings or on weekends to rehearse, as decided by the band leaders.
We are currently looking for a volunteer capable of leading the National Flag Escort. If you have experience and would like to take on this role, we would love to meet you!
