It was the perfect weather to kick off LULAC QC Fiesta Week 2016 with VIVA QC Fiesta 2016 this past Saturday September 10.

Below is the slide show of the images of this years Fiesta.

Fiesta Week is LULAC QC’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, which is a national observance of the history and positive impact Latinos have had on the world.

LULAC QC is a partnership between the Davenport Council 10, Moline Council 5285, Youth Council 600 and the SAU Collegiate Council 318.

The Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber Networking Mixer:  The Chamber of Commerce will hold a networking mixer from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Thursday, September 15, at Rhythm City Casino Resort, 7077 Elmore Ave., Davenport. Current and prospective members can enjoy food, music and door prizes. Admission is $5 and there will be a cash bar. For more information or to register, go to gqchcc.com.

LULAC QC Parade and Fiesta: Every year, thousands of people gather in East Moline to celebrate Mexican Independence Day and experience Latino culture, music and fun. The annual parade kicks off at noon Sunday, September 18, and will travel on 15th Avenue, between 3rd – 10th Streets.

Following the parade, LULAC QC will host a Mexican Independence Day Fiesta from 2 – 9 p.m. in the parking lot of Triumph Community Bank, 1523 8th Street, East Moline. The event will feature food, vendors and music by DJ Nomada and Grupo Realidad. Admission is free.

Prime sponsors of Fiesta Week events are the Regional Development Authority, Ascentra Credit Union and Group O.
