While some are preparing for a new school year others have reached a point in which they will have to prepare for a future after high school.  If you or someone you know is getting ready to graduate high school, it is never too early to plan for college for any individual.  The problem for some is where to even start.  In Iowa there is an organization
that helps “plans, apply for, pay and succeed in college.”
ICAN or Iowa Student Loan College Access Center has centers that offer free services that help plan for a career; filling out financial aid applications (FAFSA), getting school loans, manage debt and many other services that people can use in their Cedar Rapids or Des Moines offices.  But if you live in the Quad Cities, their bilingual service representative Lupe Hernandez, will be at Viva Quad Cities on Saturday, Sept. 8 at the Isle of Capri Casino in Bettendorf, Iowa to help students and parents with the services they offer.
“The college planning center also provides services to community organizations, businesses and schools as they help individuals seek additional education and training,” Hernandez said.
ICAN also helps school counselors, teachers and administrators.  To find out more about the services that they offer or their visit to Viva Quad Cities, call Lupe Hernandez at (515) 273-7291 ext. 7231 or visit them on the web at www.ICANsucceed.org.
