Hola America and KALA in 4th of July Parade

kala_at_4_of_july_paradeEnglish-Spanish newspaper Hola-America and Spanish radio station KALA 88.8 F.M.and 105.5 F.M. will be at the 49th Annual AMVETS Fourth of July Parade titled “Celebrate Freedom” in Downtown East Moline.This will be the fourth consecutive year that the newspaper and radio station participate in the event. The event has grown in the four years from 77 organizations participating the first year to 114 last year,
Luis Lara of KALA said.Sponsors give the two organizations candy, hats, t-shirts, pens and notebooks.“Everything that the sponsors give us, we give to the people,” Lara said.The event is especially for the children, Lara said with Yoyo the Clown marching with them. Another interesting thing is some members marching will be wearing face paint.
“Look for us and enjoy yourselves, every year we try to do something different,” Lara said.
The event will begin at 1p.m. on the fourth of July at 3rd Street and 12th Avenue in East Moline proceeding to 15th Avenue and ending at 13th Street.
