Kathy Rodriguez
My talent is the sports area. I play soccer and softball.  I love to dance and spend time with my friends.  In the future, I would like to attend Sauk Valley Community to study accounting.  I would also like to obtain a soccer scholarship and become a professional soccer player.  I am running for Fiesta queen because I would be proud to represent my Hispanic community in different community activities.

Vanessa Briseño
I like to sing and dance.  I sing in the choir at St. Mary’s church in Sterling and I participate in the folkloric dance group. My future plans are to attend a four year university and graduate as an accountant or a teacher.  My favorite subjects are Math and French and one day I hope to speak it very well.  I am running for Fiesta Queen because with this title I would like to help people as much as I can.

Marcela Cantu
I am currently attending Sauk Valley Community College to obtain an Associates Degree in nursing and I plan to transfer to a university to become a Nurse Practitioner.  I want to specialize in the Emergency Department, which is where I believe help is the most needed.  I currently work at Exceptional Care and Training Center with adults with mental disabilities but soon I will be working at the hospital in the Pediatric department.  I played Soccer and was a member of the Pom Pons squad my senior year.  I am running for Fiesta Queen because I believe that I can be a good role model for many Hispanic girls.

Nikaela Rivera

My talents are management.  I can speak three languages (English, Spanish, and French).  I am a very good volleyball player.  I am now attending Sauk Valley Community College where I plan to get my degree in business and then transfer to Northern Illinois University.  I hope later on, I can open a bakery and/or restaurant.  I am running for Fiesta Queen because I am a positive role model for the youth in our community.

Elvira Amezola

My name is Elvira and I participate in the symphonic orchestra.  I play the cello and dance in the folkloric group.  I am a member of St. Mary’s choir in Sterling. I like to take care of kids at St. Andrew’s School afterschool program in Rock Falls. I love to be with my friends and help them in what I can.  I speak and write perfect Spanish and English.  In the future, I would like to become a nurse or a bilingual teacher because I love to help people.  I am running for fiesta queen because I like to help and participate in the Sterling-Rock Falls community.
