Sunday races begin at 7 a.m. in downtown Moline, but runners must collect their packets Saturday; race weekend will also bring road closures across Illinois and Iowa.

The TBK Bank Quad Cities Marathon returns this weekend, with races, packet pickup and road closures affecting both sides of the Mississippi River on Saturday, Sept. 26, and Sunday, Sept. 27.
The marathon, half marathon and five-person relay begin at 7 a.m. Sunday near John Deere Commons and Vibrant Arena in downtown Moline. The 5K and 10K begin at 7:15 a.m.
For runners, one deadline matters before race morning: packets for Sunday’s races must be picked up Saturday. There will be no packet pickup on Sunday.
Race-day traffic will also be affected in Moline, Bettendorf, Davenport and Rock Island as runners move through four cities and two states.
Quad Cities Marathon weekend
- Saturday, Sept. 26: Expo, packet pickup, 1-mile race and Kids Micro-Marathon
- Sunday, Sept. 27: Marathon, half marathon, relay, 5K and 10K
- Marathon/Half/Relay: 7 a.m.
- 5K and 10K: 7:15 a.m.
- Packet pickup: Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Packet pickup location: Stoney Creek Inn, 101 18th St., Moline
- Sunday packet pickup: Not available
- Start/finish area: Downtown Moline near John Deere Commons and Vibrant Arena
Sunday’s marathon, half marathon and relay start at 7 a.m.
The main Sunday races begin at 7 a.m. in downtown Moline. That start time applies to the full 26.2-mile marathon, the half marathon and the five-person marathon relay.
The Group O 5K and Running Wild 10K begin at 7:15 a.m.
The 10K has a different starting location from the other Sunday races. It begins on Rock Island Arsenal, with buses transporting participants from Moline. There is no participant parking at the 10K start, and runners need their race bib visible and identification with them to access Arsenal Island.
The post-race party is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with award presentations beginning at 9 a.m.
Runners must pick up Sunday race packets on Saturday
Packet pickup for Sunday’s races will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at Stoney Creek Inn, 101 18th St. in Moline.
There is no day-of packet pickup for the Sunday races. A runner who cannot attend Saturday may have someone else pick up the packet on their behalf.
Packet pickup for participants in Saturday’s Happy Joe’s Kids Micro-Marathon and Shoes for Kids One Mile Race begins at 8 a.m. in the John Deere Room at Stoney Creek Inn.
Saturday races begin at 10 a.m. in downtown Moline
Race weekend begins before Sunday’s longer events.
- 7:15 a.m.: Yoga and stretching
- 8 a.m.: Fleet Feet Shakeout Run
- 9 a.m.-5 p.m.: Race Expo and Sunday packet pickup
- 10 a.m.: Shoes for Kids One Mile Walk/Run
- Noon: Happy Joe’s Kids Micro-Marathon
Registration for the Sunday marathon events is also scheduled to be available during Saturday’s expo.

Race-day parking is available west of Vibrant Arena
Race-day parking is available at Vibrant Arena at The Mark, 1201 River Drive in Moline. The main parking lot is located west of the arena.
Access around the venue will be different from a normal Sunday because River Drive between 12th and 15th streets will be closed during marathon weekend.
Both the I-74 Bridge and Centennial Bridge will remain open to vehicle traffic during the race, although traffic near the course may be slowed or redirected.
River Drive and streets along the Bettendorf route will be affected Sunday
In Moline, River Drive will be closed between 12th and 15th streets throughout the weekend. The city also approved a temporary Sunday closure of the eastbound I-74 ramp to Third Avenue, also known as River Drive, for the marathon.
In Bettendorf, several streets along the race course will be affected from approximately 6 to 11 a.m. Sunday.
After runners enter Iowa using the I-74 pedestrian and bicycle path, the route travels along State Street and through portions of 17th Street, Mississippi Boulevard, Kimberly Road, Lincoln Road, 14th Street, Alcoa Avenue, 23rd Street, Central Avenue and 18th Street before returning toward the riverfront.
Police officers and event volunteers will control intersections along the Bettendorf portion of the course and may move vehicles through when race conditions allow.
Davenport has a race-day traffic and parking map for Sept. 27
The marathon course continues along the Iowa riverfront through Davenport before runners head toward Rock Island Arsenal and return to Moline.

Individual race routes can also be reviewed on the official Quad Cities Marathon course maps, including separate maps for the marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K and 1-mile event.
The marathon starts and finishes in downtown Moline
The full marathon begins and ends in downtown Moline and travels through Moline, Bettendorf, Davenport, Rock Island Arsenal and back to Illinois.
Sunday’s first races begin at 7 a.m. Sept. 27. Packet pickup closes at 5 p.m. Saturday, with no packet distribution scheduled for Sunday morning.
