The Mississippi is more than a river. It’s the heartbeat of our cities, the witness to our history, and the legacy we’ll leave our children. Now, you have a unique opportunity to shape its future.

The Clean River Advisory Council (C-RAC) is calling on every Quad Cities resident to speak up. Formed in 2023 with a firm commitment to environmental justice, C-RAC believes decisions about our river must start by listening to the people who live beside it—especially communities too often left out of the conversation.

That’s why they’ve launched a community survey, available in English and Spanish through the end of the year, where your lived experience matters most. Whether you’ve lived along the water your whole life, recently moved to the area, or simply care about nature—if you’re concerned about flooding, water safety, green spaces, or neighborhood revitalization, this is your chance to be heard.

Community voice has already shown its power. Thanks to earlier C-RAC-guided initiatives—supported by the Walton Family Foundation and the Quad Cities Community Foundation—real projects have taken shape: river education for youth, native habitat restoration, green space creation, and community beautification.

But the next chapter is yours to write. Real change depends on real people speaking up. Taking the survey is quick, easy, and can shape environmental solutions for decades to come.

Make your voice count. Take the survey today at C-RAC’s website.

Together, we can turn community voice into lasting environmental good—and build a river legacy that belongs to everyone.
