Cinco de Mayo is quickly approaching! And with it come the celebrations and the festivities not just for the Latino community but for all who wish to have fun in a festive environment. Like most know, Cinco de Mayo is celebrated to remember Mexico’s victory over the French in the Battle of Puebla. This event is celebrated with great music, good food, and fun activities for the whole family.
The city of Muscatine, Iowa also celebrates this day and invites everyone to their Cinco de Mayo Fiesta 2008 sponsored by Mami’s Authentic Mexican Food and the Cultural Celebrations Committee. The event will take place on Saturday, May 3rd, from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. So don’t miss out on this great event that will go on late into the night.
The event will take place on 2nd Street between Chestnut and Pine Street and admission will be free. Bring the whole family and friends for fun activities for everyone. Come and enjoy some delicious Mexican food and great cerveza, and don’t forget to bring your own lawn chair to enjoy the event more comfortably.
Kids can enjoy pony rides and games. And, since a fiesta is not a fiesta without live music, don’t miss Grupo Realidad who will have people dancing all night long. Come have fun, eat, and enjoy the fiesta!
