The Immigrant Entrepreneurs Summit Board of Directors and leadership, in response to maintaining health and safety advisories around COVID-19, have determined to move forward with the 2020 IES National Summit virtually.
“Though we value and will miss our in-person meeting, the health and safety of our attendees remain our top priority,” says Ying Sa, IES board chair.
IES’ mission continues to educate and support small businesses during COVID-19, and is providing a wealth of speakers to help businesses move forward amid the pandemic.
The virtual event will feature 20 educational sessions, time to connect with sponsors and exhibitors with resources that support minority small businesses, 1-1 networking, and awards recognizing immigrant businesses and supporters.
This year’s National award recipients are:
Outstanding Business Award: Grand Consulting based in Des Moines IA
Immigrant Champion Award: John Zeitler, committed volunteer with immigrant-based organizations to support immigrants and refugees
Immigrant Spirit Award: Kiu Chieng and Peggy La, owners of Hong Kong Supermarket
“We are excited to celebrate this year’s award winners through our virtual setting. Their achievements, especially during a global pandemic is inspiring and something we can all celebrate,” says Sa.
