Concerns of being financially stable when one reaches retirement age can be stressful. Fortunately, these stress inducing concerns don’t have to keep you up at night. This is where the financial education seminar focused on retirement and presented by Principal Financial Group and Evelyn K. Davis Center comes in handy.
The seminar that will educate participants on such topics as planning for retirement and available resources for reaching one’s financial goals will be on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Evelyn K. Davis Center located at 801 University Ave #3, Des Moines, IA.
According to Emmy Madjarac, Senior Retirement Sales Specialist, there is a need for basic financial education in the United States.
“This problem disproportionally affects communities of low economic resources,” Ms. Madjarac explained one of the reasons why employees of the Principal Financial Group felt that there was a need for such event. “There are less labor and education opportunities in such communities and that aggravates the problem and forces the members of such communities to be in disadvantage on comparison to the rest of the society. These disadvantages impede people and families from advancing their quality of life and that can gravely affect future generations as well.”
Ms. Madjarac stated that this event has a goal of showing the community that Principal is a friend of such communities and the employees are simply looking for ways to help people to be better financially educated. She added that this is a first time ever the Principal Financial Group and its employees have presented such event.
“That is why we want to make sure that it is successful and affirm our commitment to the local community,” Ms. Madjarac assured. “One of our objectives is to be able to offer similar seminars and opportunities in other parts of the country and to be able to bring services to our clients. We wish to push employees to participate in their retirement plans and help with financial education for people who need it.”
Ms. Madjarac wanted to assure the potential participants that the employees of Principal volunteered to plan this event with company’s help.
“We are proud to be part of such company and team of leaders that supports us in this initiative,” Ms. Madjarac thanked the company for the support. “Our main mission is to strengthen our community and help Principal train people to build, protect and make better their future through financial education.”
The seminar will offer two different presentations, one in English and one in Spanish. After that there will be lunch with discussion panels (in Spanish and English) with diverse members of community and employees of Principal. The main topics for this seminar about retirement are myths and misconceptions about retirement planning. This event is open to anyone wishing to attend and there will be free childcare services provided by Mundo Pequeño and a light lunch. Latinos of lowa and medium income are invited to learn more about better retirement planning for the future.
