What makes the Two Rivers YMCA different from other gyms in Quad Cities area is the variety of programs they offer to members and non members alike. There are programs for children of any age, programs for adults, programs for healthier living and there are personal trainers and wellness coaches. Among so many choices there are a few worth mentioning a little bit more in depth.
● Diabetes Prevention Program. The Two Rivers YMCA takes community wellness very seriously. This program is for people that have been identified as being pre-diabetic. The program runs for a year. For the first 16 weeks there will be weekly classes with a focus on healthy eating and increase in physical activity. After the 16 weeks of classes the participants will meet for monthly maintenance classes. In order to participate in this program you do not have to be a member of the YMCA. The next Diabetes Prevention Program will start on May, 13 2014.

● Livestrong Program. This program is for cancer survivors. This is a 12 weeks program. The next program will start on May 5. This program is unique because it combines exercise with pain medicine and recently many doctors have been prescribing this program to their patients. You do not need to be a member to participate in this program, but you will need to have a release from an oncologist to be able to participate in workouts. This is a free program. ● YMCA Summer Camp. The registration for this camp is going on now and it ends on May 16. YMCA Summer camp provides a wide range of activities for kids. Besides fun exercise, children will also enjoy some academic components of the programs. There will be field trips and new friends.
