DREAM Iowa and many other leaders in immigration reform across Iowa are excited to announce the #UniteIowa on Immigration forum to be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015. DREAM Iowa has partnered with over 30 organizations throughout Iowa that, like DREAM Iowa, LULAC, Hola Iowa among others support swift and humane immigration reform.  In one month, members of Iowa’s immigrant, business, educational, faith, labor and political communities will come together to discuss fixes to our broken immigration system. Â
Â
This forum is free, open to the public, and taking place at Buena Vista University’s Schaller Memorial Chapel in Storm Lake, IA. The forum will be moderated by Kyle Munson, Iowa columnist at The Des Moines Register, as part of his ongoing #UniteIowa campaign.  Organizers are inviting presidential candidates to speak, but also to listen to what Iowans have to say about immigration at a time a divided nation tends to leave the voices of those most directly affected by immigration reform out of the conversation. Governor Martin O’Malley ‘ s team has been the first to confirm they will be attending.Â
The organizers invite those interested in this one of a kind event to visit the website at www.iowaimmigration.org for more information, to register, and to take a better look at all of the organizers and sponsors of the event. Â The planning of this event has truly been a collective effort that DREAM Iowa, LULAC and Hola Iowa along with the over 30 organizations are very proud to be a part of.Â
