Handcrafted, illuminated Asian lanterns depicting mythical creatures and animals will light up Blank Park Zoo this spring when the Wild Lights Festival returns.
The annual festival, sponsored by MidAmerican Energy, will feature larger-than-life displays, according to a news release, and provide ample selfie and photo opportunities.
“The artistry and lighting are awe-inspiring,” said Anne Shimerdla, president and CEO of Blank Park Zoo. “Every year brings an all-new and different festival, there are more interactive displays this year than ever before.”
When can you see the Wild Lights Festival at Blank Park Zoo?
The festival will be hosted from April 5 through May 27, nightly from Wednesday to Sunday, plus on Memorial Day from 7:30 to 10 p.m.
What can you expect to see at Blank Park Zoo’s Wild Lights Festival?
The 2024 festival features animal displays, interactives and Asian mythical creatures, according to the release.
Guests will be wowed by an 82-foot-long Chinese dragon, a magic forest and a giant panda mountain, Shimerdla said.
How to get tickets
Blank Park Zoo will host a one-day sale March 6. According to the release, tickets will be discounted up to 40 percent online. Cost of tickets range from $19 to $25, with the one-day sale price as low as $15. There is also a discount available for groups of 40 people or more.
