Radical is a movie by Eugenio Derbez released this month on November 3rd, 2023. This movie is “Based on true events, Radical shines a light on the incredible potential children can manifest when an innovative teacher empowers them to think for themselves. Radical was the winner of the 2023 Sundance Festival Favorite Award.”
“Sixth grade students at Jose Urbina Lopez Elementary are among the worst performing students in Mexico, with their world one of violence and hardship, not possibility. It might seem like a dead end, but it’s the perfect place for new teacher Sergio Juarez to try something different.”
The movie will be available for a week in the Des Moines Metro Area theaters from Friday, November 10th until Wednesday, November 15th only at Cinemark Century Jordan Creek 20 and XD in West Des Moines.
I will be watching the movie this weekend and inviting my family, especially my mom to watch this movie with me since the movie is in Spanish with English subtitles. I would invite the Latino community in Iowa to do the same!
