The annual DREAM Iowa Youth Leadership Summit will take place on Sunday, March 29th, 2020 at Iowa State University in Ames.  

Please Note: This year, you must register your students HERE  by February 29th.

DREAM Iowa unites immigrants from across the state once a year to empower with knowledge, skill development, civic engagement, and strategy for growth. This yearly summit offers updates on immigration policy and shares the pathways for leadership and involvement.  This leadership summit showcases the aggregate voices of our community. Talented individuals share their life and business experience to a captive audience of hungry bilingual learners. Panelists and speakers demonstrate essential skills to grow into leadership roles.  Immigrant Youth in Middle School, High School, and College are welcome to attend.

Here are some exciting announcements about this year’s event:

  • Jose Antonio Vargas, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, Emmy-nominated filmmaker, Tony-nominated producer, and founder and CEO of Define American, will be joining us as the Keynote Speaker. 
  • Parranderos Latin Combo (PLC) will be playing live music.
  • Iowa 4H is providing transportation from rural communities to our event
  • We have 10 workshops to choose from, including a storytelling workshop put on by Define American
  • We will once again be raffling $500 & $1,000 scholarships for high school seniors and college students
