Grand View University will be hosting an event for Spanish-speaking community members on Tuesday, May 16 from 6-7pm to discuss barriers to employment in Polk County. “Minorities are rarely part of this conversation. It is important that we are included at the table for future progress,” says Alex Piedras, Director of Multicultural and Community Outreach.

The event was organized by the Minority Unemployment & Outreach Standing Committee which consists of smaller Boards across Iowa. The Board is made up of Central Iowa Workforce CEOs that are responsible for workforce development strategy in Polk county, along with seven other counties including Boone, Dallas, Jasper, Madison, Marion, Story, and Warren.
