Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush will speak at the next Quad Cities New Ideas Forum on Thursday, August 13 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. This visit is hosted in partnership with the Americans for Peace, Prosperity, and Security. Bush will talk about his new ideas around national security, defense, and the Rock Island Arsenal.

“We have the opportunity to engage presidential candidates on various issues facing the nation, one of them being national defense and the value the Rock island Arsenal brings to the national defense strategy. Thursday’s New Ideas Forum will reinforce to a larger audience that the Quad-Cities is a vital element in advancing our country’s strategic interests both here and abroad,” says Jason Gordon, Vice President, Public Affairs at the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce.

Every four years Iowa is catapulted into the national spotlight as a result of the pivotal role its residents play in the selection of presidential candidates for the major political parties. Through its first in the nation caucus process, Iowans have unparalleled access to the full range of candidates aspiring to be President of the United States. The Quad Cities New Ideas Forum, through a partnership between the Quad-City Times, St. Ambrose University, and the Quad Cities Chamber, is capitalizing on this opportunity.
