Mary Campos and I have co-chaired The Brown and Black Forums of America, formerly known as the  Iowa Brown and Black Presidential Forum, the longest running minority-focused political forum in America, since we created it in 1984.

Today,  we are here to announce that on January 13th, 2024, the Iowa Republican Presidential Forum is to take place. The location of the forum will be at Roosevelt High School here in Des Moines, Iowa. The Forum will be from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The Iowa Republican Chair, Jeff Kaufmann was unable to be present here with us, but he sent the following statement:  “More dialogue is always a good thing in the political process – person-to person discussion is, in fact what makes the Iowa Caucus so important in our presidential nominating process. Republicans are especially keen to engage in conversations with groups such as The Brown and Black Forums of America about how bold leadership and ideas can benefit all Americans regardless of race.”
