Moline’s St. Mary Catholic Church’s youth group Grupo Juvenil: Nuevo Amanecer had its annual play of the Stations of the Cross on Sunday, April 1. The actors were mostly young
people and played the roles of Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary, the 12 apostles, Jewish people, and Roman soldiers. The play was done in Spanish but anyone of any language could see what was going on.The play started off with the Last Supper. The actors did a pretty good job as the man who played Christ fell right before me during one of the Stations of the Cross. The narrator would also describe the symbolism to each event. You could hear women were weeping and the soldiers using whips on Christ. Some in the audience were moved to tears.
