ON YOUR FEET! is based on the life story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan. This Cuban American couple is known as barrier breakers who achieved a crossover and reached the very top of the pop music world. Emilio Estefan is a producer, musician and businessman who is also 19-time GRAMMY winner. Gloria Estefan is a singer, songwriter, actress and businesswoman who is also a 7-time GRAMMY winner.
The Emilio and Gloria Estefan Broadway Musical ON YOUR FEET! takes you beyond their public persona and tells their true story. They had it all, but they almost lost it. This is a must see, feel-good musical that will have you singing along to all the most popular Gloria Estefan’s musical hits. Gloria Estefan’s most popular hits like “Rhythm Gonna Get You,” “Conga,” Mi Tierra,” and many other will be played during the performance.
ON YOUR FEET! is directed by Jerry Mitchell, 2-times Tony Award® winner who also directed Kinky Boots and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo Olivier Award winner who choreographed Jersey Boys. It is written by Alexander Dinelaris, Academy Award ® winner, who also wrote Birdman, The Bodyguard Musical.
The role of Gloria Estefan will be played by Christie Prades, who was born and raised in Miami to Cuban immigrant parents and who understands well the role of Gloria in this musical. Prades previously appeared in In the Heights, West Side Story and D*Word.
Mauricio Martinez will star as Emilio Estefan. Martinez appeared in “Señora Acero 2” on Telemundo and he also stars in El Vato, first original scripted TV series from NBC Universo available on Netflix. This award-winning actor also starred in Mexican productions of some Broadway plays and musicals like Beauty and the Beast, Saturday Night Fever, The Drowsy Chaperone and others.
Also, Nancy Ticotin, the Broadway veteran, will star as Gloria Fajardo, Gloria’s mother; Debra Cardona, TV and theatre actress, will represent Gloria’s grandmother Consuelo and Jason Martinez, Jersey Boys star, will appear as Jose Fajardo Gloria’s father.
ON YOUR FEET! is more than a musical. It is a story painted with music.

ON YOUR FEET! The Emilio and Gloria Estefan Broadway Musical will be at the Des Moines Civic Center from February 20 to February 25 of 2018. The musical will start at 7:30 PM every night from February 20 to February 23. Saturday February 24 the showing times are at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM and Sunday February 25 the showing times are 1:00 PM and 6:30 PM.
