Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a Norwegian far-right lawmaker, believes Trump deserves this prestigious award for a peace agreement between the United Arab Emirates and Israel. He also indicated that in spite of how he acts at press conferences or what he does at his home country, he “has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees.” he claims.

The Norwegian lawmaker also added that although he himself is not a huge supporter of the American president, he asked other leaders to follow his lead before judging. He urged the Nobel Prize committee to judge Trump according to facts and try to ignore the way he behaves at times.

“The people who have received the Peace Prize in recent years have done much less than Donald Trump. For example, Barack Obama did nothing,” Tybring-Gjedde said.

Trump was also nominated for the prize in 2018 for the efforts to resolve nuclear tensions with North Korea.
