The Moline Downtown Library, 504 17th St., is reopening after being closed for 22 months. The library reopened March 31st and will only have one floor (the main floor) open. The new Moline Public Library, 3210 41st St. will serve as the main library.

The downtown library was closed May, 2006 because the building needed to remove asbestos, lead paint, and mold. The library is a Carnegie Library and a historical building for the City of Moline.

Hours for the downtown library are Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The downtown library is closed on Fridays and Sundays.
