Des Moines, IA-Lincoln High School student senior Valeria Diaz-Ruiz has won the Des Moines Register’s Student of the Week.

Diaz-Ruiz exemplifies the qualities of an outstanding student and community leader, wrote school counselor Jacqueline Patrick in the nomination.

As the president of the National Honor Society (LHS Chapter), Valeria has demonstrated exceptional leadership, inspiring her peers to excel academically and serve their community. She has also been a dedicated member of Student Leadership for two years, where her vision and drive have made a meaningful impact.

This is a weekly contest. Polls open on Mondays and close at noon on Friday. Students from public and private high schools in the Des Moines area are eligible to participate.
