Another mixed martial arts organization throws in the towel following behind the IFL and Bodog Fight as Elite XC will be no more by the end of the week.  This, only weeks after the company’s “golden boy”, Kimbo Slice was handed his first loss in MMA by Seth Petruzelli in 14 seconds.  According to Yahoo Sports, Elite XC has had financial problems the whole two years it has been operating.  Stemming from a bad television deal with Showtime and a website that never took off and despite drawing the largest viewing numbers in MMA history, Elite XC fighters will now most likely look to UFC’s owner Dana White or other organizations for work.  On Kimbo Slice, White has made his opinion very clear which is apparent from a recent interview from www.bloodyelbow.com.  “You know what would happen if he (Kimbo) fought in the UFC?  I’d put him against (lightweight champion) BJ Penn and he would get annihilated.”  Kimbo’s future with the UFC looks bleak because of his loss and the controversy surrounding his last fight.  Petruzelli did a radio interview saying that he was approached by CBS and offered more money to keep the fight off the ground.  If the fight never went to the mat, Slice would definitely have the upper hand as his boxing skills greatly overpower his strength on the ground.  As for Gina Carano, EXC’s rising female star, Dana White has also made it know that he has no interest in bringing female fighters into the UFC.  After winning her last fight against Kelly Kobald, a showdown between Carano and chute boxer, Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos was in the works.  Dana White may want to think twice about females in UFC as that fight would most likely be the biggest female MMA fight in history.
