


Iowa Public Radio is looking for a Digital Producer to join our Digital team. This person will work in collaboration with the Digital/IT Manager to grow IPR’s digital audience through a variety of digital products and projects. The Digital Producer will support reporters as they build optimized digital-first stories, will support talk show staff in producing digital content from the daily talk shows and will create other new and unique content for iowapublicradio.org and other distribution platforms. The Digital Producer is also responsible for making sure all digital content is optimized for search results, meets style guide standards and is generally publish-ready. The Digital Producer additionally has daily deadlines around publishing content to the website’s newsblog and serves as a back-up writer for IPR’s daily news newsletter.

ANTICIPATED HIRING RANGE:
- $35,568 – $48,178
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Media Production, Communications, English, or related field or experience;
- 6 months’ experience in daily reporting or supporting a journalism organization in digital reporting and talk show production, internships included;
- Familiarity with AP or NPR writing style and demonstrated skills in writing and editing;
- Understanding of digital platforms and content promotion strategies; and
- Strong understanding of journalistic ethics and experience maintaining high journalistic standards of objectivity, balance and fairness.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Strong interest in news and news reporting;
- Familiarity with a broad range of news topics, including government, politics, education, science;
- Experience creating and optimizing news content for search results;
- Experience in photojournalism or framing photos to visually tell a story;
- Strong oral and written communication skills; and
- A love for the internet, storytelling and serving an informed public.
