Des Moines, IA- JEFAS Latinas in Business Magazine announces the release of its winter issue, showcasing more than 25 remarkable Latina entrepreneurs who are transforming Iowa’s business landscape. The magazine launch event will take place on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 5:30 PM at Mainframe Studios in downtown Des Moines.
The latest issue highlights successful Latina business owners across diverse industries, including construction, hospitality, and beauty services. Each feature tells the unique story of how these entrepreneurs transformed their initial ideas into thriving enterprises. The magazine also includes “Consejos” (Spanish for “advice”), articles that offer practical guidance for current and aspiring entrepreneurs. Topics include essential checklists for business startups, the importance of self-investment, strategies for building local support networks and understanding the benefits of business consultants and career coaches.
“What makes these women truly exceptional is their dedication not only to their businesses but to their communities,” says Editor-in-Chief Christina Fernández-Morrow. “Despite facing numerous challenges, they’ve persevered to build businesses they’re passionate about while actively giving back through mentorship, volunteering with organizations that empower and elevate women, and investing in their employees’ development.”

The JEFAS hail from various countries throughout the Americas and are examples of how immigrant dreams and determination enrich our cities and towns. Their stories serve as inspiration for future business owners while showcasing the vibrant contributions of Latina entrepreneurs to Iowa’s economy and quality of life.
Following the Des Moines event, the magazine will host additional launches in other cities in Iowa that will be announced on its new website, which is making its debut at the event. The magazine is available free of charge at the featured entrepreneurs’ businesses, Mainframe Studios, and business locations across Iowa, western Illinois and Nebraska.
