Iowa Wolves to Host Mexico City Capitanes for Hispanic Heritage Community Celebration Night

Des Moines, Iowa – The Iowa Wolves, the NBA G League franchise of the Minnesota Timberwolves, is excited to announce that Wednesday, February 22nd will be Hispanic Heritage Community Celebration presented by Principal with the Mexico City Capitanes coming to town with tip-off scheduled at 7pm. 

The Iowa Wolves will wear unique jerseys celebrating Hispanic Heritage designed by Al Exito for the game. The jerseys will later be auctioned off, with proceeds benefiting Al Exito. Grupo 515 will perform before the game starting at 6pm with more music at halftime.

“We’re thrilled to host the Mexico City Capitanes and celebrate the legacy of Hispanic Heritage together,” said Chip Albright, Vice President of Marketing with the Iowa Wolves. “The game of basketball is clearly an internationally-celebrated sport these days and it’s growing very quickly in Latin America. The NBA G League is in a unique position to help grow the game in cities like Mexico City and beyond so it’s a real thrill to have these talented players on our court here in central Iowa.”
