Iowa City’s League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) Council 308 Honors Award Recipients and Recognizes Incoming Executive Board

LULAC Council 308 which includes the Iowa City, Coralville and North Liberty area will be honoring recipients of this year’s excellence in service and leadership awards at a recognition ceremony held at Lower City Park, shelter #7 at 2 P.M. on June 12th, 2021.  

Recipients of this year’s awards have exemplified service to the community through various volunteer activities, including food delivery to Derecho affected communities, education advocacy for low-income families lacking resources for online education, and civic engagement efforts and in partnership with various local organizations.

Attendees will also observe the ethics oath of the newly elected 2021-2022 Council 308 Executive Board. The newly elected executive board consists of David De La Torre, President, Paola Jaramillo Guayara, Vice-President, Francisco Olalde, Treasurer, and Cristina Muñoz De La Torre, Secretary.   The oath will be presented by state LULAC president Nicholas Salazar.
