In International soccer most of the Mexican players in Europe did not have a good weekend. In the Spanish League the most attractive game was Atletico de Madrid vs Deportivo La Coruna. Atletico imposed their dominance in their home turf and defeated Deportivo 4-1. With the win Javier Aguirre’s Atletico gains 3 important points. Andres Guardado’s performance was regular due to his team’s loss.
Another match was Barcelona vs Recreativo. Recreativo did not present a threat to Barcelona which delivered a 2-0 win, thanks to Messi and Keita’s goals. With the win Barcelona is now one of the leaders of the tournament. Mexican National player Rafael Marquez played the whole 90 minutes and consolidates himself as a key player in Barcelona’s defense. Guillermo Franco’s Villareal tied 2-2 against Malaga and with the loss share the top spot with Barcelona in the rankings.
In Holland Salcido’s PSV got defeated by Ajax 4-1 even when the Mexican National player played the whole 90 minutes. PSV came from “Glory to Sorry” due to their championship not too long ago.
In the English Premier League, Mexican National player Carlos Vela played for 20 minutes in Arsenal’s defeat against Aston Villa. With the loss Arsenal drops from the rankings.
