For the whole season, Nebraska ranks fourth, by allowing opponents to hit .139.

The senior will likely be selected as an All-American for the fourth time in her career, which has only been accomplished by two other volleyball athletes in school history.

The three-year team captain is also just nine digs away from the career school record. That’s currently held by Olympian Justine Wong-Orantes at 1,890.

The other three candidates for player of the year are Pittsburgh’s Olivia Babcock, Kentucky’s Brooklyn DeLeye and Wisconsin’s Sarah Franklin.

The winner will be announced Friday, Dec. 20, during an awards banquet at the AVCA Convention in Louisville, Kentucky.

Nebraska will compete against No. 2 ranked and No. 3 overall seed Penn State in the Final Four around 8 p.m. Central Thursday in Louisville. The Big Red hope to avenge a late season loss on the road to Penn State. The loss split the Big Ten Conference Championship between the two schools.
