Today, immigration raids and targeted actions at multiple job sites across Omaha have left immigrant workers detained and families in fear.
At Heartland Workers Center (HWC), we’re responding with urgency, care, and a commitment to protect our communities.
What We’re Doing:
- Mobilizing volunteers and leaders to provide workers, families and local businesses with important “Family Safety Plan” and “Know Your Rights” information with important legal resources for next steps – today alone we have distributed over 1,000 of these packets in the Omaha Metro area
- Working directly with organizations like CIRA to help inform vulnerable communities
