As the temperature has been in the 80s and 90s in the last few weeks, it may not feel like summer is coming to an end. But as a cold front moves into the Quad Cities, so does the first of many fall races. On Saturday, September 12th, Genesis Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine will host the 3rd Annual Fall Foot Race 5k run/walk and 1 mile fun run/walk.
“As the manager of wellness, I thought it would be fun to have a Genesis event,” explained Genesis Health Promotion Manager, Jan Treftz-Allen.
Having had two races already under their belt, moving the race back a few weeks to early September this year seemed like the best idea. “Last year it was cold and rainy,” said Treftz-Allen. “With the date change, we have a lot more people participating this year.”
And not only will registering for this event ensure that a nice morning run, a portion of the proceeds will go to children’s projects at Genesis including Camp Genesis, the NICU and the Free Flu Clinic for Children which is the next project coming up.
