The 3rd annual Gabe’s Gift Memorial 5K Race will take place on Saturday, September 9 at 7:30 AM in Moline, IL at Jane Addams Elementary School. Gabe Perkins died on 12 August 2010 from rhabdomyosarcoma after a 15 month battle with that cancer. He was only seven.
For the first 4 years, we walked to his grave site and released green balloons. We are now running for Gabe and raising funds. All proceeds from this event will go to Gabe’s Gift (an entity under Tudi’s Tribe – a local charitable organization that helps families of kids with cancer). Specifically, local grieving families reeling from the loss of a child to cancer will be sponsored to travel to attend Camp Sunshine to receive support for each family member.
