Abarrotes Carrillo is not only a restaurant and grocery, but is also a residence for the family.

The family issued a statement on their Facebook page last night:

“Dear customers,

Thank you so much to the Davenport community for being so quick to reach out. Thank you to all of the Davenport Emergency First Responders for working hard to save our humble location. Your support means everything to us. At this time we will be closed until further notice due to a fire. We will keep you updated once we get everything back up and running. ❤️  – The Carrillo Family”

Christine Murcia, a patron of the restaurant has created a GoFundMe page to help out the Carrillo family.

“No time is a good time, but this close to Christmas is horrible. They did not ask for help; I insisted we start this. Anything you can contribute would be appreciated. We can give them a little something to comfort them during what will most certainly be a long recovery.”

Here is the link to the GoFundMe page if you would like to contribute.
