Leave your passport at home and travel around the world in an afternoon at the 2015 Global Village, on June 7 at the Iowa Arts Festival at the Ped Mall in Iowa City.
Mexico, Norway, Ireland, India, Ghana, Italy, and Guatemala are among the 15 countries represented at the 2015 Global Village on Sunday. Each booth offers a unique cultural experience and is sponsored by a local Iowa City business or organization. Show your support for these wonderful community organizations by stopping by to play, learn, and enjoy!
This year the Quad Cities Ballet Folklorico and the Glenview Middle School Mariachi Band will be featured at the Global Village. The performance for the GMS Mariachi will be at 10:30 AM and the QCBF will perform at 11:20 AM.
The Global Village takes place on the Pedestrian Plaza of Downtown Iowa City. For address purposes, it would be 210 S. Dubuque Street, which is the Sheraton Iowa City Hotel and the Pedestrian Plaza is right outside the hotel.
The Iowa Arts Festival is a weekend-long, free, community celebration featuring over 115 local and national visual artists displaying and selling their artwork, a music festival, a “Culinary Row” serving regional and ethnic food, a variety of activities and entertainment, both creative and educational, for children and families. The Iowa Arts Festival is the most anticipated visual art-centered event of the summer.
